The Bewdley Community Centre has undergone rehabilitation and a building addition in 2009 and is now completed. The facility additions was designed and constructed with the intent of achieving a LEED Silver level of certification from the Canadian Green Building Council. This is the LEED municipal building in Northumberland County. The barrier free facility now offer a 200-seat banquet hall/multi-purpose room; fully accessible washroom facilities; rehabilitated arena with warm viewing area and barrier free change rooms. The facility also houses the Bewdley Library (satellite from the Cobourg Public Library) and Community Works (Food and clothing bank). The official opening of the Centre along with the 3 km of Rice Lake Drive between County Roads 28 and 9 will take place on September 11 with a 2:00 pm ribbon cutting at the Centre.
